From my family to yours, HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY (I refuse to use a pagan goddess E-word)!
This day was biblically known as Bikkurim, or "The Feasts of First Fruits." It is the day of not only JESUS/YESHUA's resurrection, but of all the Jewish saints that arose with Him in Jerusalem as per Matthew/Mattiyahu 27:52-53. He brought these revived saints with Him, because the Torah records in Exodus/Shemot 23:15 and Deuteronomy/Devarim 16:16 that it was forbidden to appear before the L-RD empty handed on this particular feast day (which occurs within the seven day Feast of Unleavened Bread/Matzah, which also includes the Passover/Pesach).
In Leviticus/Vayikra 23 the seven "Feasts of the L-RD" are listed. Note that despite the more common usage, these are NOT described as the Feasts of Israel, but the "Feasts of the L-RD." The Hebrew word for "feasts," mo'ed, actually means "appointments." Thus, these feasts are actually the Seven Appointments of the L-RD...not of Israel.
However, Leviticus/Vayikra 23 states that Israel should observe these recurring annual feast days as "holy convocations." The Hebrew word translated convocations, mikra, actually means "rehearsals." So we know there are seven appointments that the L-RD intends to keep, and that these are to be rehearsed each year to portray a deliberate pattern. By now, you should realize just how important these feasts truly ARE from a prophetic perspective! It saddens me that so many Christians have adopted the E-word holiday without an understanding of these feasts.
The first four feasts were kept right on time: YESHUA was crucified as our 1) Passover Lamb; 2)buried and in the tomb during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and 3) resurrected on the Feast of First Fruits! The fourth feast was observed 50 days later at Pentecost/Shavuot in which the baptism of the Holy Spirit/Ru'ach HaKodesh was given. 3,000 were made alive at the giving of the Spirit, to nullify the 3,000 which died due to the sin of the Golden Calf at the giving of the Law/Torah on this same date (see Exodus 32:28 and Acts 2:41). I suspect if the L-RD was that punctual with keeping His first four appointments, He will be just as punctual in keeping the three appointments that remain...but that's a topic for another day!
The resurrection was crucial in order to demonstrate that YESHUA Himself was sinless, although He took on the curse of our sin nature (the evil inclination, yetzer hara) for us. If He was not resurrected, our faith would be fruitless (1 Corinthians 15:17), because He would still be under the curse of those hanged on a tree (Deuteronomy/Devarim 21:23; and Galatians 3:13). The fact that His death and His resurrection occurred during the Feast of Unleavened Bread/Matzah is another hint of His sinless nature (leaven represents sinful pride that puffeth up).
Father Abraham rejoiced to see this day, so let us REJOICE as well!!! John 8:56
