Each week, members of Zion's Roar Ministries bring their loose change to our Shabbat Bible Study in order to contribute it in our Tzedekah Box. Each time the box is full, we count the change, deposit it, then cut a check for that amount to donate to a local charity. ZRM members choose different charities each time, and then we start the process over. "Tzedekah" is a Hebrew word that more or less translates as "Righteous," in that GIVING to those in need is simply "the right thing" to do. One of the most beautiful things about the Jewish culture is its philanthropy and in particularly, their care for one another as members of Klal Israel. In this respect, they have truly been a light unto the nations by setting such a charitable model. After all, you will never miss your loose change (if you don't believe me, check your cushions) and between a close-knit group of people, it can easily add up to hundreds of dollars! Why not collect it and give Tzedekah to charity? Try this for yourself. Collect it as a family, as friends, as co-workers, and as a congregations. You simply can't go wrong for, "He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again." Proverbs 19:17
